How can Olympic host contenders optimize their bidding strategies?

Abstract or project description

This project will analyze the most optimal strategies for Olympic host contenders during the bidding process to ensure that the decisions they make will benefit the city regardless of whether they win the bid. I will answer my research question in a case study format, analyzing four different Olympic games, 2 of which the host city benefited and 2 examples where the city fell short of its original goals. After analyzing these specific cases I will discuss the IOC's role in the bidding process and how there have been many issues with corruption in the past and how in the present day the committee remains vulnerable. I will also raise a few possible ways to improve the current system for future bidders and the organization as a whole.
