How do differences in occupational health access policies between Singapore and Malaysia shape healthcare utilization among low-wage migrant workers?

Started Nov. 18, 2025

Abstract or project description

This project examines how differences in occupational health access policies in Singapore and Malaysia shape healthcare utilization among low-wage migrant workers. Despite their economic importance, migrant workers often face restricted access to care due to legal status and insurance limitations. Existing studies document these barriers but offer limited comparative analysis within Southeast Asia. This project compares policy frameworks and healthcare systems in both countries using government reports and existing literature. The goal is to generate policy-relevant insights to support more equitable migra nt health access.
