How has the Fossil Fuel industry historically Oppressed Native peoples? (in the great plains) and how are they fighting back?

Abstract or project description
My student doesn't officially know her topic yet. She has had some changes of interest thoughout our session. We decided to take one more session for her to brainstorm, write the topic, and write the abstract. It will have something to do with oppressed Native American peoples and their current fight of that oppression. We are hoping to provide solutions for either fossil fuel or climate change justice.
