What is the History of CRISPR and what are its current projects?

Started June 4, 2023

Abstract or project description

This report will mainly discuss how CRISPR was discovered in its natural context, how it was adapted for gene editing, and how it is currently used. This paper will start with Mojica's discovery within saltwater marshes and move on to the essential findings born from the Jennifer Duodna and Feng Zhang rivalry (which gave us important discoveries such as turning CRISPR into a gene-editing tool and how it was adapted to mammalian cells). Then, it will elaborate on how CRISPR is being used and built today. The end will include speculations on where CRISPR will go from the present-day onward, including potential new uses.
