Athreya will be discussing the prevalence and harmful effects of cancer misinformation, its history of it, how it has evolved in the age of the Internet/social media, and why it continues to propagate. He will conclude the paper by discussing current legislative and community-level efforts to crack down on this issue, especially on the Internet/social media.
