Artificial Intelligence tutoring systems: the call for inexpensive and personalized learning solutions for underperforming students

Abstract or project description

The project will study middle school and/or high school students. Underperforming students at an academic summer program will be studied. There will be three groups; one control group of non-tutored learners, one group of human tutored subjects, and one with an AI tutor trained on the course material. The study will take note of student performance before and after tutoring, accessibility and ease of use with tutoring means, time spent in tutoring, and conceptual and analytical understanding of the topic.
