Bio
My passion is in global health. I entered my program because I saw the health discriminations my family faced back in Cameroon and I’m committed to empowering the local communities of LMICs to build sustainable health systems. There are many policies that must be changed and gaps that must be bridged in other for this to occur, so the work starts with having a deep understand of the history and technicalities of global health. On my personal time, I enjoy engaging in the arts and connecting with nature. I paint, go on walks, visit museums, and push myself to create new experiences. Staying active is also important to me, despite my love for rest; so I recently started training to run a 5k.Project ideas
The psychological impact of reproductive rights and health in African women
Many cultures are built around repopulation, so many societal norms often favor a woman’s decision and ability to reproduce children in a fashion which is socially acceptable. In this project, we will explore the health risks associated with women wanting to have autonomy over their reproductive organs, the limited options of safe and efficient childbirth, and the stigmas associated with both.
HPV Vaccination Advocation for Adolescents
This project consisted of my teaching and presenting to adolescents in LMICs. I educated them on the STD: HPV and it's vaccine. A safety, efficacy, and accessibility analysis was conducted and presented in order to debunk cultural misconceptions around that particular vaccine. There was an underlining effort to convince these adolescents to become advocates of their own health and to stand in their united power within their communities.
