Bio

Keegan is a dynamic entrepreneur and engineer with a wide range of product and business development experiences. He has advised and supported hundreds of entrepreneurs through the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB)'s flagship experiential entrepreneurship course, Startup Garage, and through the GSB's Exec Ed program. He has developed new frameworks for early-stage venture exploration which are now taught through these channels. Before joining the GSB, Keegan founded and bootstrapped a STEM education company (acquired) and was the first employee of a VC-backed bioenergy company (acquired). Some of the problems that Keegan has focused on include water quality in urban Bangladesh, STEM education in the United States, water supply in rural Tanzania, economic mobility in Kenya, and renewable energy supply at the bottom of the ocean. Keegan holds a MS in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Biophysics from the University of Michigan.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Be an entrepreneur!

Learn how to be an entrepreneur, by actually being an entrepreneur. I will guide you through known best-practices in finding venture opportunity, and assessing the viability of venture ideas. This includes processes in customer discovery, prototyping, business modeling, de-risking, pitching, and more. I can work with you on your own topic interests, and also supply some seed ideas for you to explore based on your interests.

Co-author a children's book on innovation mindset

I will work with you to create a children's book. I can provide you the known best practices in innovation, and be a thought partner with you on creating a compelling children's book aimed at encouraging kids (and their parents) to adopt an innovation mindset.

Teaching experience

I currently teach about entrepreneurship and innovation processes at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior teaching work including running a Design Thinking summer camp for high school students.
