PhD candidate at Stanford University

Environmental science, public health, environmental health, policy, environmental engineering

Hello my name is Jayson I am currently an PhD student at Stanford University. I am focusing on identifying the health, environmental, and social impacts of climate change and creating co-benefits from developing sustainable energy transition. I did my undergrad at the University of Michigan and my master’s from the Harvard. I focused my thesis on evaluating and mapping emission changes after installing scrubbers to coal power plants. Before my PhD program I worked as a Management and Program Analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the Office of Inspector General, where I evaluated EPA's water programs and made recommendations for improvement. I am looking forward to collaborating and working on various projects

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Health Benefits of Renewable Energy Transition

Review your state's energy portfolio. Assess various health benefits if they were to transition to cleaner energy sources.

Develop New Environmental Policies

Review various environmental statutes such as the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. Make suggestions on how these acts could be improved to further protect the environment.

How to create a sustainable business

Review criteria for Environmental, Social, and Governance. Look at successful businesses with high scores and see how that could apply to new company.
