Bio

I am a current 5th year Biomedical Science PhD Candidate at Rutgers University with a thesis focus in bone regeneration and fracture repair. I also work at an investment and company creation firm focused in life sciences, where I act as an operating partner of our portfolio companies. Prior to enrolling in a PhD, I worked as a strategy and management consultant for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and digital health companies. While pursuing my Masters Degree I worked in investment banking focused on mergers & acquisitions. On the side, I play and coach soccer, a passion I have had since I was younger and led me to play in college. I am an active philanthropist for Juvenile Diabetes, participating in bike rides and races to raise over thousands of dollars for groundbreaking research. I also am on the board of my high school. I enjoy taking care of my golden retriever puppy, taking her to nursing homes as a therapy dog and going on hikes.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Regenerative Medicine Treatment Discovery

Have you ever wanted to create your own drug? Ever wanted to cure a disease? Stem cells have the application to regenerate and proliferate all cell types. Depending on the tissue environment/cell type, stem cells have the capacity to replenish the cells in order to target and treat several diseases. Stem cells have strong applications for treatment but contain several ethical concern, which can be circumvented with new technologies. The use of these stem cells therefore can be applied to all disease types. In this project, we can create a disease target and formulating a process to research the drug and finding its application in the area of research.

Healthcare Population Analytics

Millions of claims data from healthcare insurers are generated each day, which incorporate all areas of the treatment paradigm. Using information on the diagnoses, treatments, age populations and several other factors, we can create an analysis for deciphering when populations are at risk and finding solutions to mitigate these problems for several disease areas.

Biotechnology Industry Evolution

How have we gotten from our first production of insulin to genetic engineering in order to provide personalized medicine? The field is extremely dynamic and evolving each day with the constant changes of the landscape. In this project, we will assess the company's in this field, how they propel the sector and where there are lags and barriers in order to find viable solutions to promote innovation and development.

Teaching experience

As an undergraduate student at Lafayette College, I was a peer mentor for the varsity soccer team, meeting with varsity athletes to navigate their curriculum and provide insight. I also tutored for biology, evolutionary biology and molecular genetics. At Georgetown University, I taught students in the Entrepreneurship, Molecular Biology and Strategy in Biotech. I volunteered as a TA and taught incoming students on the dynamic field of the intersection of biology and business. On the side, I have tutored and taught several students throughout my academic career to provide value to my career.
