Bio

Evan is a medical professional with a diverse portfolio of medical, community service, and IT-related experiences. He is especially interested in the practice of medicine, lifestyle medicine, and medical ethics. Currently, he is an MD candidate at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. In his free time, Evan likes to spend time with his family, garden, hike, listen to classical music, and occasionally SCUBA dive.

Glymphatics: A Tiny Waste Management System in the Human Brain

The glymphatic system is a newly discovered system in the brain involved in waste clearance in the central nervous system during sleep. This project is a review of the current literature on the glymphatic system including its anatomy and pathophysiology, monitoring methods, and connections between the glymphatic system and nervous system pathological symptoms.

First, Do No Harm: A Primer to Medical Ethics

This research project explores the importance of the principial phrase "primum non nocere" or "First, do no harm" in medical ethics and the historical development of the practice of medicine.

Lifestyle Medicine in the Management of Cardiovascular Disease

This project explores the essential use of lifestyle modifications in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease (CVD). The research comprehensively reviews cardiovascular structure and function, pathophysiology of CVD, pharmacological treatment of CVD, and lifestyle modifications to prevent and treat CVD.

Teaching experience

Evan has mentored high school students in a variety of contexts, including as the 2022 co-founder and director of the Bob Jones University Summer Premed EDUcamp and as a research mentor since 2023.
