Bio

I am a PhD student specializing in Robotics at Oregon State University. My academic journey is driven by a fascination with Human-Robot Interactions and policies around that. My research is currently operating in two main areas of study: Robotic policy and Robotic comedy. In robotic policy my main focus is providing research about robots to policy makers so they can make laws that positively impact everyone (specifically people of Color) and push the robotics industry forward. My robotic comedy research creates an AI system that can accurately detect human emotion and respond with appropriate jokes. Beyond my academic pursuits, my personal interests include baking, watching anime, and spending time with friends and family.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

Robotic Policy Review Article

This project aims to explore the ethical and legal considerations surrounding the deployment of autonomous systems, such as robots or drones, in public spaces. It involves analyzing the potential benefits and risks associated with these technologies, evaluating existing policies and regulations, and proposing recommendations for effective robotic policies that prioritize safety, privacy, and social responsibility. Research and Background Study: -Understand the concept of autonomous systems and their applications in public spaces. -Explore real-world examples of robotic deployments and their impact on society. -Investigate existing ethical guidelines, legal frameworks, and policies related to autonomous systems.

Python, Matlab

Teaching experience

I have mentored undergraduate students. In the mentorship program, the undergraduate students were tasked to help me with my robotic comedy research project. I assigned the students tasks every week and they completed them.
