Hi, I’m Mohamed! I’m a life sciences founder with more than 10 years of experience in scientific research, including four years as an early employee at a leading brain-computer interface startup. My background spans neuroscience, biology, in vivo and in vitro research, data analysis, and experimental design. I’m passionate about making complex scientific concepts approachable and helping students develop both a strong understanding of the material and the confidence to think like scientists. Science is advancing faster than ever, and I love helping others build the knowledge and curiosity to participate in that progress. Outside of work, I’m a huge science fiction and fantasy fan. I also enjoy biking around the Bay Area and taking long walks with my senior Frenchie.Project ideas

Can We Decode Intended Hand Movements from Brain Activity?
In this project, a student would use a publicly available EEG dataset to investigate whether brain activity can predict when someone is imagining moving their left or right hand. The student would learn how EEG signals are collected, clean and visualize neural data, identify relevant patterns, and build a simple classification model. They would also evaluate the model’s accuracy and consider why brain signals can be difficult to decode. The project could culminate in a research poster, written report, or interactive visualization explaining the results.
