Bio

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, I immigrated to the United States in 2004, where I graduated high school, before attending the University of Cincinnati (“UC”) on a track & field scholarship. After two years at UC, I transferred to Warner University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in American history. After completing my undergraduate degree, I went on to earn my Juris Doctor and LL.M in taxation. Given my academic background, I’ve developed a passion for all things personal finance, corporate taxation, corporate law, general business concepts, and American history. I enjoy reading, working out (weightlifting, running, krav maga, etc.), and most importantly trying new foods and experiences. When not at work, I typically spend my time consuming all things personal finance, stock market investing, and real estate investing. I look forward to working with you on your journey to learn about and develop your passions.

Project ideas

Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.

1. Beginner Legal Research & Writing

In this project, you will research and draft a persuasive legal memorandum. I'll present a factual scenario and present certain perimeters to limit the scope of the scenario. This process will teach you how to develop your critical thinking skills, you'll develop your research skills, and you'll learn how to draft a memorandum. You will gain skills in writing and editing, persuasion, as well as a baseline understanding of certain legal concepts.

2. Personal Finance 101

As a consumer of all things finance, I've developed a passion for personal finance and budgeting. In this project you'll be tasked with creating a personal finance plan for a specific period of time and you'll learn how to budget, and the basics of investing. Moreover, you'll gain invaluable skills in reading financial reports, preparing a budget, and developing life long habits that will serve you for years to come.

Teaching experience

I haven't formally taught; however, I served as a mentor in the Pinellas County Boys Court Program. I currently serve as a mentor to high school students in a non-profit I volunteer with (Club Esteem). Additionally, in college, I served as a tutor in finance, history, and accounting.
