Hello! My name is Katie and I am an MPA fellow at Cornell School Brooks of Public Policy with a concentration in Environmental Policy. I went to Villanova for my undergrad, and studied Economics and Political Science with a Global Business Concentration, Sustainability Studies and Irish Studies minors. I am very interested in sustainability, and plan on working in environmental policy or environmental consulting. I am a very big reader and am currently reading "Daisy Jones and the Six". My favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut - I even have a tattoo dedicated to him! I love to talk about books and music, and love being outside in nature.Project ideas
Learning to Write a Policy Memo
For this project, I will teach students how to write a policy memo arguing for or against a specific policy implementation. We will learn how to properly address and format a professional document that will be sent to lawmakers. In addition, we will do research on various Supreme Court cases to understand our nation's history. Students will learn how to properly write a professional memo.
Learning History
For this project, students will write a history paper on their personal favorite time period of history. This paper will have to focus on why this period is important, what happened in this period, and why people should use this time period to learn for the future.
