Bio
I am a strategy consultant by training, currently working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry at Epizyme. My role is focused on understanding market dynamics and trends to help support strategic business decisions and to help translate strategic insights into actionable strategies. Currently, I am responsible for all aspects of market research, competitive intelligence and new product planning for Tazverik, a first-in-class novel epigenetic drug indicated for lymphoma and soft tissue sarcoma. At Brandeis University, I double majored in Business Administration and Healthcare Policy Management with a double minor in Economics and French. My undergraduate studies focused on the intersection of business, economics and healthcare. As an undergraduate, I spent multiple internships exploring the crossroads of business and healthcare and was able to be exposed to sub-sectors of the healthcare space (such as diagnostics, bio pharmaceuticals and medical technology).Project ideas
Market Landscape Assessment (Disease of your Choice!)
Have you ever wanted to understand the key drivers of a particular market. What makes one company invest so much in one disease but not another? What are they key pieces of information healthcare companies are thinking about when exploring a new disease area? In this project, you will learn the principles/fundamentals of how to properly analyze a market of a particular disease of interest. Key principles/fundamentals include: market size, disease overview, current treatment practices/paradigms, key unmet needs, competition, pipeline/clinical trials, payer insurance/coverage. Once you learn these fundamentals, you will choose a disease of interest and conduct a comprehensive market landscape report that touches on all these key metrics and wrap up with a detailed SWOT analysis. You will then create a summary, based on your findings and analysis, that outlines the future trends of this particular disease market.
Evolution of Precision Medicine
The history of medicine shows how societies have changed in their approach to illness and disease from ancient times to the present. Modern medicine has moved from "traditional medicine", where therapies are used uniformly for all patients, to much more personalized approaches of treating diseases called precision medicine. In this project, you will learn about how some of the most innovative, cutting-edge science in modern medicine is changing how we as a society are treating diseases. From harnessing the power of the epigenome, to using a patient's own immune system to treat cancer, and to even replacing a missing gene to cure a genetic disease, precision medicine will undoubtedly have a place in the future of medicine. Once you learn more about these innovative topics, you will then dive deeper into understanding which key players are leveraging this cutting edge science and translating them into actual therapeutics that will hopefully one day help so many people. The project will culminate in a research/review paper that not only analyzes the trends in precision medicine but outlines the future potential of this innovative and exciting area of study.
