Hello! My name is Jason, and I am an MBA student at the University of Michigan. My academic passion is investing. I have spent my career thus far helping non-profit companies invest so that they grow their portfolio over the long term. Through this passion for investing, I have focused on investing in tech startups including AI companies! Outside of my academic passion, I love to play the guitar and go skiing with family and friends. I have been playing guitar since high school, and my goal is get better each and every day I play! I have been skiing since I was 5 years old, and my goal is to own a ski house in the future.Project ideas
Project ideas are meant to help inspire student thinking about their own project. Students are in the driver seat of their research and are free to use any or none of the ideas shared by their mentors.
Investment research paper
My mentee will pick 1-2 companies and will do research on them, similar to how a professional investor does their own due diligence reports. The goal of the project will be for the mentee to learn how they should think about a company from an investment perspective. A company can be cool and seem popular, but will it actually make you money? The student will weigh the risks/benefits, and then determine whether or not they think the company would be a good investment. This project will provide valuable practice for students who will undoubtably use these skills in the future.
Teaching experience
I was a camp counselor for 5 years for kids ages 8-14 years old. Additionally, I volunteered with a local Boston high school to mentor 2 freshman students for a semester. My mentorship focused on helping the students develop a business plan and present it to their peers.Credentials
