Bio
Hi! I'm Prachi, a recent graduate of Georgetown University's Security Studies Program, where I studied how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cybersecurity are reshaping national security and global politics. My research sits at the intersection of technology, public policy, and international affairs, and I love exploring big questions about how innovation influences societies, economies, and the future of global cooperation. Whether it's understanding AI governance, the geopolitics of semiconductors, or the future of quantum technologies, I enjoy helping students break down complex ideas into exciting research projects that spark curiosity. Outside of research, I'm an avid reader, writer, and lifelong learner who loves connecting ideas across disciplines—from history and philosophy to technology and international relations. I enjoy mentoring students as they discover their own interests, ask thoughtful questions, and develop the confidence to think like researchers. When I'm not reading about emerging technologies or world affairs, you'll probably find me experimenting in the kitchen, exploring new places, or watching space launches and science documentaries.Project ideas
Can Artificial Intelligence Become a National Security Threat?
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming industries, governments, and everyday life. But what happens when countries begin competing to build the world's most powerful AI systems? In this project, students will explore how AI is influencing national security, international competition, and public policy. Through case studies on the United States, China, and Europe, students will investigate topics such as AI governance, misinformation, autonomous weapons, cyber security, and technological competition. By the end of the project, students will produce a policy brief, research paper, or presentation that answers a focused research question of their choice, supported by academic literature, government reports, and news analysis. Along the way, students will learn how to formulate research questions, evaluate evidence, synthesize multiple sources, and communicate complex ideas to a broad audience.
