How to pronounce “Polygence” and what does it mean?

In a nutshell, our name stands for “multi-faceted intelligence”. Poly stems from the Greek root πολύς (polus), meaning “many, much”, and -gence is a creative adaptation of the latter half of “intelligence”.

At Polygence, we recognize intelligence as much more than just academic prowess. We celebrate intelligences of all kinds – intellectual, emotional, kinesthetic, creative, and many others. Students who may not necessarily thrive in the academic setting in school can develop their creative intelligence through a fine arts project right alongside students who are honing their analytical writing skills.

We are strong believers in cultivating diverse perspectives on the world - this is why we encourage our students to not only publish research papers, but also to record podcasts, assemble art portfolios, write Op-Ed articles, build robots, start organizations, present at conferences, and much more. With every project, we break down the stereotype that “research” is only ever conducted in labs by people in white coats who present their findings in journals. Join us on this exciting mission and explore the multiple facets of your intelligence!
