Allison Warren

Allison Warren is an artist, educator, and textile designer whose interdisciplinary practice spans sustainable textile design, architectural foundations, and material research. She has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she also served as a program lead for Architecture Foundations. She holds a BA in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art.

As a mentor, Allison helps students develop strong creative projects, research papers, and portfolios through thoughtful exploration of technique, concept, and process. Her expertise includes sustainable materials, basic design, model making, drawing and visual representation, architectural research, and material and construction science. She also helps students connect their creative work to real-world applications and entrepreneurship through her textile consultancy, PLUM textiles, a zero-waste practice focused on sustainable manufacturing and fair-wage local production.
