Abstract or project description

Saccharomyces Cerevisiae is a model organism used for data used in gene collection. In this study, we are actively researching the effects of caloric restriction on the CLS (Chronological Life Span - a measure of the mean and maximum survival time of non-dividing yeast populations) and RLS (Replicative Life Span - the mean and maximum number of daughter cells generated by an individual mother cell before cell division stops irreversibly) of Saccharomyces Cerevisiae are, and how these factors correlate with age-dependent genomic instability. In many numerous studies, yeast CLS has been used to study mechanisms behind the mechanisms of age-dependent genomic instability, leading to the discovery of oxidative DNA damage and error-prone DNA repair systems as the key for mutation accumulation, and thus aging.
