In this project you will write a review that evaluates the biomarkers present in various body fluids and its potential use to monitor and diagnosis cancer. There has been an increase in interest in studying other body fluids to detect and monitor disease. This study will allow you develop the skills to critally analyze research and determine if the data is significant and then to combine the literature into a review.

Health literacry is determined by my social determinents, developing innovative methods to educate patients on health promotion and prevention can help reduce the barriers to health literacy. In this project, the student studies the over 700 types of microscopic species - both beneficial and detrimental - that inhabit our oral cavities. The student will write an extensive research paper discovering what remains to be done to couple microbiology with treatment mechanisms.

This project is a marriage of sociology and dentistry, and studies the way our oral health both impacts and is impacted by our social surroundings. This project will be a combination of studying the history of different hip hop dance styles and active hip hop dance instruction. The student will use dance as a vector for learning more about cultural expression. After delving into the meaning behind different hip hop practices, the student will create a dance routine that combines many styles, and in turn celebrates many cultures.

Rising Ocean Levels due to Climate Change
Global warming is causing global mean sea level to rise in two ways. First, glaciers and ice sheets worldwide are melting and adding water to the ocean. Second, the volume of the ocean is expanding as the water warms. The negative effects are coastlines will retreat, destabilizing coastal ecosystems, contamination of groundwater, coastal flooding, and much more. This project will allow to learn more about the global ecosystem and create a project of the student's desire to understand how the world is battling climate change.
